The Opportunity
We are seeking a Pipeline Integrity Engineer (Manufacturing, Fabrication, and Construction (MFC)) to support a diverse team of engineers working to effectively implement our pipe integrity program to ensure the safe operations of our pipeline systems, and compliance with regulations.
What you’ll do
- Review and support development of Engineering Critical Assessments for MAOP Reconfirmation
- Review, analyze, and conduct pipeline defect analysis utilizing direct assessment, in-line inspection, pressure test, and other assessment data to propose remedial or follow up actions
- Participate in data management initiatives and coordination of data collection, data integration and maintenance activities that reduce risk of integrity threats to the asset
- Interface with inspection vendors to assess anomalies and data quality
- Support in developing excavation programs to ensure timely remediation of features
- Support senior engineers with a wide range of integrity threat management activities including identifying, prioritizing and addressing integrity threats, particularly related to legacy manufacturing and construction issues, cracking, dent, risk, and in-ditch assessment and repairs
- Provide timely technical support to various teams (regulatory groups, asset development, field assessment, Special Permits, capital projects etc.)
- Support excavation programs. This includes reviewing excavation results and coordinating any additional integrity activities as necessary
- Write engineering assessments, technical memos and reports as required
- Support regulatory engagement and reporting activities for Canadian and US regulators
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
- Registered with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing
- 5 - 10 years of pipeline integrity experience, knowledge and prior exposure to manufacturing and construction integrity threats
- Experience in Engineering Critical Assessment
- Experience in metallurgical investigation and analyses
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pipeline operations or integrity
- Knowledge of integrity related PHMSA, CER and AER requirements, including changes within latest revisions
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to analyze and interpret data, and convey information to a variety of stakeholders
This position requires candidates to:
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review
- Have current, valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada, US and Mexico)
