Job Description MissionIn order to support the mechanical expertise within the building team, the project director will be responsible for leading institutional projects. With several years of experience delivering school and hospital projects, the project director will become a technical reference, coordinate team members' work for projects under his/her supervision, and represent CIMA+ and the Building Department with clients. Supported by the
Area Vice President and other qualified members of the organization, you will have all the necessary tools to grow within the organization. Primary ResponsibilitiesWork as a project director on various large-scale projects in building mechanicals.
Act as a technical reference in building mechanicals and solve complex engineering problems.
Act as a mentor and share building engineering knowledge with junior employees. Confirm accuracy of drawings and specifications for projects under their supervision. Coordinate the work of team members and various professionals, and ensure collaboration with other internal disciplines in order to deliver projects in a timely manner, based on priorities.
Meet with clients, assess their needs, prepare proposals and letters of intent, and establish budgets and schedules. Ensure communication with clients to assess project progress, ensure that their opinions and requests are taken into consideration, and demonstrate ability and ease in making presentations. Collaborate closely with clients to solve any issues related to projects, such as technical and budgetary requests.
Carry out contract monitoring (including budgets), and draft contract amendments.
Act as a project manager for projects under their supervision and follow-up on WIP/AR in collaboration with staff involved. Ensure Human Resources Management: conduct hiring, performance evaluations, participate in the salary review process, ensure a healthy work environment conducive to performance, ensure the maintenance and development of the team members' skills.
Evaluate and implement methods, procedures, and tools in order to increase the quality of services, optimize work methods, and increase productivity. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 20 years of professional experience. Portfolio of diversified institutional building projects (primarily schools and hospitals).
Experience in consulting engineering, in the private, public, or semipublic building sectors.
In-depth knowledge of financial concepts and excellent budget monitoring skills. Negotiation and communication skills.
