Intent of the process

The intent of this appointment process is to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates. The results of this process may be used to staff same or similar positions for future vacancies of various tenures at Public Services and Procurement Canada in the Ontario Region.

Information you must provide
In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Canada, in the discipline of Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- Recent experience in heavy civil construction projects or complex multi-storey buildings, and/or base-building systems, and/or bridges, and/or marine dredging activities.
- Recent experience in the management of consulting services including investigation, concept design, design development, change control and close out documents.
- Recent experience in the management of construction services including contract administration,





change control, and commissioning.
- Recent experience in management of procurement processes for consultants and/or construction services.
- Experience in project progress reporting, including quality, cost, or schedule.

*recent is defined as approximately the past 3 years from the closing date of this advertisement.
**base-building Systems refers to a) mechanical (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), Plumbing, Fire Protection, Refrigeration, Controls) and/or b) electrical (Power and distribution upgrades – site services and within buildings, Emergency back-up generator, Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), Lighting, Fire Alarm, Electronic Security, Public Address System.)
***complex is viewed in terms of risk.





Candidates are expected to demonstrate experience in the management of projects, with at least 1 risk factor; for example (1) projects implemented in secure facilities (e.g. correctional facilities with restrictions for access by construction crew), with high stakeholder and media interest, with stringent regulatory compliance requirements, in heritage structures, with unknown site conditions.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

- PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
- LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification.
- Experience in construction project delivery approaches, such as Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and Construction Management.






- Experience in the preparation of project Statements of Work (SOW) and project briefs.
- Experience in engaging with Indigenous communities.
- Experience in Green Procurement.
- Willing and able to travel, alone or with a team, to project sites, as required.
- Willing and able to work overtime, as required.
