Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5hrs/week
Story Behind the Need -
- Business group: Cybersecurity Operations - provisioning resources with remote access management within the bank globally.
- Project: Work on VPN modernization under MS Azure, Entra ID vs entrust certificates,
provisioning remote access for day-to-day operations.
Typical Day in Role:
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Provision, provide 2nd-line support of MFA Hard and Soft tokens, VPN PKI certificates, and One-Time/Multi-Time Verification Codes, as requested/approved by GIAM Manager.
- Process urgent terminations as directed by intake team or management team.
- Utilize troubleshooting skills to understand systems’ issues and potential root causes.
- Utilize organizational knowledge to understand the teams and interactions involved in relevant systems/processes.
- Demonstrate personal accountability for assigned initiatives and daily processes.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, and present improvement ideas up to Director level.
- Coordinate with 1st & 3rd level support when applicable and provide resolution recommendations to management.
- Escalate all high-priority issues affecting availability,
customer impact, and user impact to the Senior Manager.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, ensuring adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
- Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
- Complete work/tasks as assigned.
Must Have Skills:
- 8-10 years of working experience as an IT Security Analyst
- Strong knowledge of VPN concepts and platforms
- 5 years of working experience in MS Office, especially Excel.
- 1-3 years of experience in PKI certificate distribution
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Knowledge of Python scripting is an asset.
- Intermediate knowledge of network technology/topology.
Education:
- College degree/Diploma in Computer Science or technical equivalent.
- CISSP is an asset.
Best VS. Average Candidate:
- Having a CISSP certification, MS Azure fundamentals, and cloud courses will stand out.
