This role is pivotal in ensuring the resilience and reliability of our mission critical systems in alignment with the ATCO IT infrastructure and operations recovery capabilities and technologies. Reporting to the Senior Resiliency Services Manager, the Technical Lead, will have strong technological aptitude and understanding of technology infrastructure,
resiliency architecture to support business continuity planning and disaster recovery for operations across the enterprise from a technology perspective as a technical expert. You will partner and collaborate with stakeholders and technical SMEs from across the organization to safeguard our operations against disruptions and ensure swift recovery in the event of a disaster. The key responsibilities include:
- Working collaboratively with various ATCO and vendor technology teams to develop, implement and test disaster recovery solutions aligned with the ATCO recovery strategies and in accordance with the business requirements; maintain currency of the relevant recovery guides for the ATCO mission critical applications; working collaboratively with various technology stakeholders to provide required updates in the recovery guides
- Manage and coordinate actual recovery efforts in case ATCO disaster recovery plans and ATCO Technology and Global Security Plan are invoked in a crisis event
- Manage planning and execution of the regular ATCO Disaster Recovery testing program
- Working collaboratively with the ATCO Infrastructure Management and Cloud platforms teams, provide assurance and oversight to ensure that backup and data restoration services are planned and delivered to support the ATCO recovery strategies and objectives.

- Provide technical leadership and expertise in designing, deploying, and managing solutions for business continuity and disaster recovery across various IT systems and platforms, working collaboratively with various ATCO and vendor technology teams
- Support as a technical SME, comprehensive risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities as part of our IT infrastructure.
Develop mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
- Contribute to the creation, update, and maintenance of detailed disaster recovery plans, including data backup and recovery procedures, system redundancies, and failover and failback strategies.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) processes, procedures, and technical configurations. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
- Ensure all BC/DR strategies and practices comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards and aligned with the ATCO technology and infrastructure strategies
- Responsible for planning and execution of the regular ATCO Disaster Recovery program.
- Design and lead the execution of regular disaster recovery drills and tests to validate the effectiveness of recovery plans and procedures. Document results and recommend improvements.
- Serve as a key point of contact during major incidents, and crisis response leading the technical response to ensure minimal disruption and prompt recovery of services.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT with at least 3 years in a technical lead role focused on disaster recovery. Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing BC/DR solutions in complex IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of resiliency architecture, application architecture, IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, application and cloud services. Experience with backup and recovery solutions, virtualization, and high availability systems. Experience in a hybrid cloud environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex technical scenarios and develop effective solutions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively. Effective collaborator with proven ability to develop and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to ensuring business operations can continue with minimal interruption during and after adverse events.
