The energy industry, particularly transmission grids, is undergoing major changes to accommodate for regional and global decarbonization and energy transition targets.
Underground and subsea cable technology are, in particular, increasingly becoming a major player in this energy paradigm shift to enable large-scale renewable energy generation, such as offshore wind, green hydrogen or large interconnectors.
As a P&C; Engineer - Transmission, you will closely work with regional and global transmission and studies teams to support and/or lead ongoing projects as well as business development and proposal support with a variety of clients including renewable developers, transmission owner/developers as well as utilities.
The successful candidate shall demonstrate related experience and technical knowledge in the area of protection and control applied to transmission and substations from planning/protection philosophy phase to detailed design studies.
Experience with software packages such as ASPEN One
Liner is required.
Prior knowledge of protection related to renewable generation interconnection and/or HVDC is preferred.
Responsibilities include: Advanced knowledge of various protection relaying functions including line protection, transformer protection, breaker failure, cap bank protection, communication-based schemes, differential protection, etc.
Perform conceptual planning phase protection and control studies including protection philosophy, basis of design, and fault studies.
Perform P&C; related studies such as protection coordination, PT/CT sizing, TCC curves, relay coordinations etc.
Familiarity with P&C; related standards such as IEEE and NERC.
Familiarity with ASPEN One
Liner,
PSS CAPE, or similar software packages.
Contribute to the delivery of projects, delivering on time and to budget.
Work closely with the team members across North America and globally.
Work with different types of customers including renewable developers, utilities, and ISOs/RTOs.
Participate in related technical committees such as IEEE or CIGRE.

Minimum Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, from a recognized institution.
Minimum 7 years of direct experience with protection and control related projects.
Experience with protection studies software such as ASPEN One
Liner and PSS CAPE.
Knowledge of applicable industry standards such as IEC, IEEE and CIGRE.
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a focus achieving results.
Team player with great interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Ability and willingness to travel within North America.
Ideally, You'll Also Have: Experience with other power systems studies software such as PSCAD, PSS/E etc.
Experience with offshore wind and HVDC.
Professional Engineer (PE or PEng) License.
