The Slaight Family Centre is a donor funded clinical research program for youth in transition, who are at-risk for, or at early stages of severe mental illness. The main goal of the Slaight Family Centre is to put more young people with severe mental illness on a path to recovery, through the development of new treatments, enhancement of early detection efforts, and clinical research.
We are seeking a full-time, contract Research Analyst who will provide support to the Slaight Family Centre’s research team, with a focus on developing processes to deliver, train clinicians, and evaluate a model of coordinated specialty care in early psychosis intervention services, particularly as it relates to social determinants of health.
Reporting to the Slaight Family Centre Research Operations Manager, you will assist in coordinating recruitment for multiple studies and participate in projects as assigned. Research activities can include: supporting centralized recruitment, scheduling and assisting with participant interviews, research participant screening and eligibility assessments, extracting information from electronic health records, data entry and database maintenance. You will also be required to assist in preparing data for presentations and peer-reviewed research papers, supporting regulatory submissions, progress reports and Power Point presentations. Other administrative duties are also required. You will help support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable CAMH policies, as well as all regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 1025 Queen Street West.
You may be required to work evening hours to facilitate participant recruitment and data collection.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, neurosciences or health sciences combined with at least one (1) year of relevant clinical or research experience with individuals and/or families with mental health and addiction issues. The role involves supporting multiple projects; the ability to multitask and collaborate effectively with colleagues and diverse stakeholders is essential. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and integrate well into multidisciplinary and diverse teams. The position may require contact with patients with acute mental health and substance use problems: experience in clinical and high-stress settings is an asset.
Demonstrated communications skills (both oral and written) are required as is the ability to explain complex issues in plain language. The candidate will be detail oriented, well organized, with the ability to meet deadlines and to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency with word processing, PowerPoint and database software packages is required. Experience using data management tools (e.g., REDCap); ability to maintain and analyze large databases; literature review and synthesis skills; familiarity with statistical analyses and data interpretation are strong assets.
Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
