Position Overview: As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you will play a pivotal role in delivering top-notch emergency care to our patients.
Working alongside a team of experienced veterinarians and dedicated professionals, you will be integral to ensuring positive outcomes for pets and providing peace of mind to their owners.
Patient Triage: Quickly and accurately assess and prioritize patient needs in emergency situations.
Nursing Care: Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to critically ill or injured pets.
Medication Administration: Safely administer fluids, medications, and blood products as prescribed.
Monitoring: Vigilantly monitor patients under sedation or anesthesia, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Laboratory Work:
Perform microscopic analysis of blood, urine, and other samples to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
Client Communication: Effectively communicate with pet owners regarding the status and care of their pets.

Schedule: Hiring for days, swings, and overnights
Typically three consecutive 12-hour shifts, can be flexible pending YOUR needs
Daytime hours would include 7:30a - 7:30p
Overnight hours would include 7:30p - 7:30a
Swings anywhere from 6 hour or 12 hour shifts
About You: You are a confident and skilled Registered Veterinary Technician dedicated to outstanding client service and excellent patient care.

You must have a strong foundational understanding and can perform the basic responsibilities of a veterinary technician including (but not limited to):
Venipuncture
Placing IV Catheters
Drug Calculations
Administration of Medications (IV or other methods)
Taking Vitals
Gathering Medical History
Qualifications: Education: Graduate from an accredited Veterinary Technology program.
Certification: Successful completion of the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE).
Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure with the Eastern Veterinary Technicians Association (EVTA) and the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association (NSVMA).
Experience: Experience in emergency medicine is preferred, but we are open to applicants with a strong background in general practice who are eager to transition into emergency care.
