As aHarbour Patrol Officer, you will assist the Senior Harbour Patrol Officer inplanning and implementation of the daily activities including harbour patrol,deep sea vessel escorts port promotion tours, pollution prevention and incidentresponse.

What youdo: Workswith the Senior Harbour Patrol Officer in carrying out harbour patrol duties,including, deep sea vessel escorts when required investigation of marinerelated incidents.

Supportsthe Senior Harbour Patrol Officer in liaising with port users and tenants topromote safety of operations and pollution prevention.

Supportsthe Debris Management Program and responds to potential hazards to navigationin the harbour caused by floating debris.

Inspectsand reports on the condition of docks, aids to navigation, marinas, debriscontainment areas and other port infrastructure, as applicable.







Conductsvarious maintenance related activities on boats and other port administeredassets or facilities.

Followsprocedures and best practices established for safe operation of vesselsincluding: seaworthiness, troubleshooting simple performance problems andrecord keeping.

Provide assistance in the Operations Center asrequired
What you bring: Youwill hold a valid Master, Limited Certificate (60 tons or higher).

Youwill be a high school graduate and have a minimum of two years related marineexperience including Harbour Patrol Officer experience, and a practicalknowledge of seamanship.

Youwill possess Port local knowledge and have exposure to port operations (anasset).

Youwill have basic computer knowledge and ability to learn office and variousin-house specialty applications.







Youwill be able to work under pressure, demonstrate good judgement, have theability to make decisions, show initiative and take responsibility forsituations when required.

Youwill also exhibit the ability to work effectively in teams, demonstratingexcellent communication and interpersonal skills with internal and externalcustomers.

Working environment: Shift work and exposureto a coastal tidal environment with periodic adverse weather conditions.

Physical requirements include: occasional heavy lifting with frequent liftingand/or carrying of objects weighing up to 40 pounds, climbing up and down wharfand vessel ladders, kneeling, crouching and prone positions, reaching and hardpulls, agility and use of muscles.

Marine Transportation

Security Clearance: This position is required toaccess restricted areas/information.

Theincumbent must obtain and maintain a valid Marine Transportation Security

Clearance as defined by the Marine Transportation Security Regulations.
