Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office while providing exceptional patient care. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness of the treatment area in accordance with health regulations.
- Handle administrative tasks including billing, insurance verification, and managing patient inquiries.
- Support specialized areas of dentistry such as pediatrics or orthodontics when required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, but we welcome candidates who are eager to learn.
- Familiarity with dental software systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry is beneficial.
- Experience in CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
for dental applications is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is preferred; willingness to pursue certification if not already obtained is required.
