SBM Geomatics Ltd. (SBMG) is currently looking for a full time Senior Cadastral Geomatics Technician / CAD Operator to join our team in the London office. The successful candidate will work along side the other geomatics, engineering, and design staff on Cadastral, Land Development, and Engineering projects using Civil 3D and other design tools. This position will provide the candidate with experience working on a variety of projects with exposure to all stages of a project from conception through construction. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Managers in all aspects of project delivery
- Processing of field data and computer-generated survey information
- Perform legal survey calculations to accurately establish or re-establish boundaries
- Drafting of complex legal plans for Plans of Survey, Reference Plans, Plans of Subdivision and Condominium Plans, pre-engineering, topographic plans. Preparing Lot Grading, along with SRPR’s and reports
- Ensure plans are in compliance with provincial acts and regulations (Survey Act, Surveyors Act, Land Titles Act,
Registry Act, etc.)
- Coordination of design and drawings with other team members and consultants
- Occasional site work as required; role will be primarily office based
Skills / Qualifications:
- Diploma in Geomatics / Surveying Program, Civil Engineering Technician, or Technology program or equivalent experience,
- 3+ years experience in drafting cadastral survey plans within Ontario,
- Experience in drafting pre-engineering topographic surveys an asset,
- Experience in reviewing Land Registry Office title documentation (PINS, block maps, instruments, and plans),
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Excellent problem-solving skills,
- Knowledge and proficiency in Civil3D, AutoCAD, MS Word, Outlook, Excel required,
- Excellent drafting skills,
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required,
- Commitment to ongoing professional and personal growth; willingness to learn and develop new skills,
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision and in a team environment, and prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment,
- Willing to travel for site inspections and field work if required,
- Eligibility for registration with OACETT; C.Tech. or C.E.T. designation preferred.
