Position Overview

Our client is a highly successful Canadian Asset Management firm with an expansive global and national platform. The firm invests in a variety of long-lived asset classes held through a growing portfolio of private funds and operating public listed entities.

Currently, the firm is seeking a Vice President to join their sophisticated Investor Relations and Co-Investments team. Reporting to the Group Head, the role will be focused on strategizing and executing on capital-raising activities and co-investment opportunities. This is a dynamic front-facing role, with heavy interaction with global institutional investors, internal senior executives, investment professionals and portfolio managers.







The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of progressive experience in investor relations, capital raising and/or private market investment roles. Knowledge of issues facing institutional private market investors is essential. A substantive track record representing complex or alternative products and strategies is an asset.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and strategic individual, with a transactional foundation, to take on a highly visible and impactful senior role in driving the growth of a prestigious Canadian investment firm.

Role Responsibilities

- Proactively manage investor relationships for the private funds, executing on strategies to raise investor awareness and understanding of the business;






- Participate in strategic capital initiatives including raising co-investment and capital raising;
- Work with senior management to coordinate strategic initiatives with key investors;
- Actively engage in the formulation of key messaging to the market and be an effective communicator of this messaging;
- Be a subject matter expert on the firm’s activities by participating in internal investment and asset management meetings in order to be able to communicate those activities effectively to investors and the market;
- Participate in prospective investor outreach, including educating prospective investors on the merits of investing in alternative investments;
- Manage inquiries from existing and prospective private fund investors which may include RFIs, RFPs,





DDQs and ad hoc requests by utilizing all internal and external resources to provide responses to all routine and non-routine questions;
- Oversee preparation and dissemination of IR and capital raising materials (investor communications and updates, investor reporting, presentations, offering memoranda, case studies and fact sheets, etc.) and internal communications materials (investment committee memos, investor updates, etc.) for major transactions and capital raising initiatives;
- Liaise with Client Relationship Managers globally with respect to the ongoing maintenance of existing private fund investors, including presenting to investment committees and boards as required;






- Support the build-out and ongoing maintenance of the firm’s investor base with private banks, family offices and RIA.

Desired Qualifications

- Ten + years of experience in any of the following disciplines: investing/asset management, investment banking, corporate development or investor relations;
- Strong transactional expereince in private markets and investments, including direct and co-investments;
- Undergraduate degree in business or finance;
- MBA and/or CFA designation preferred;
- Clear history of working with private fund investors;
- Experience with renewables, power, energy or infrastructure an asset;
- Able to manage a team of individuals and demonstrates a commitment to shared success above any personal accomplishment or recognition;






- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a particular strength in dealing with a wide variety of individuals at various levels within and outside of the organization;
- Analytic and strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations and make effective recommendations;
- Proactive self-starter who is able to handle pressure effectively and has experience working with senior management teams.

Please note that at present, legal eligibility to work in Canada is a prerequisite for this role.
