Position Overview

Our client is an established and well-capitalized family office holding a growing global portfolio of investment and operating assets. Currently, they are seeking a dynamic and seasoned Head of Finance to lead their finance function. Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Finance will lead a team responsible for the overall financial health of the office, as well as assisting with the growth of the operating company through global acquisition. The incumbent will also act as a business and strategic advisor to the Chairman as it relates to the treasury, tax and business matters and investments of the Office.







This is an ideal role for a finance professional with experience in a family office or complex family owned operating entity to drive financial and strategic leadership in a growing global family office environment.

Role Responsibilities

- Strong operational experience, demonstrating the ability to run the financial operations of a complex business & implement strategic & bottom-line improvements.
- Serve as an office leader for M&A; transactions, working with a third-party investment company to assist with targeting, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration.
- Lead the effective safeguarding of the value of assets held by the Family Office and be principally responsible for the care and custody of the Family Office and investment portfolio.






- Lead the Office’s finance function and manage a growing team to manage the financial analysis, cash flow forecasting, and projections for current and future business investments and tax planning initiatives.
- Supported by external expertise as required, promote effective tax planning to enhance the tax position of the principal and family.
- Advise and execute distribution planning, hedging strategies and negotiation with banks on credit/finance.
- With the assistance of internal and external tax support - monitor tax legislation, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to financial reporting and identify actions to protect the Family as required.
- Oversee the overall accounting team & function related to the Office not only to ensure compliance but also to provide additional value to the Office to ensure effective,





efficient operations of the office of the CEO.
- Recruit and up-skill additional finance team members, as necessary to evolving needs.

Desired Qualifications

- A CPA (or equivalent) with at least 15 years of accounting, treasury, tax, financial and business experience.
- Experience working in a family office or for a family-run complex business.
- Has worked on M&A; transactions (i.e. Due diligence, review valuations, integration of a new operating company).
- Strong experience in the Treasury function, including distribution planning, hedging, and negotiating finance with banks.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills.
- Constantly striving for continuous improvement.






- A leader with strong business acumen and experience building & cultivating strong relationships with internal and external parties.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and accounting software, e.g. Quickbooks.
- Experience dealing with mergers and acquisitions is an asset.

Please note that at present, legal eligibility to work in Canada is a prerequisite for this role.
