Technical Support Coordinator
Contract - 6 month extendable
Location - Toronto
Hybrid - 2-3 days per week in office
Role
The Technology System Coordinator is responsible for providing first-level technical support to internal users, which includes hardware and software provisioning, onboarding, troubleshooting, and handling related technical requests. The System Coordinator plays a vital role as part of the Technology Services Team, working closely with the US Technology Support team to ensure all requests are assessed, prioritized, and addressed within agreed-upon service level agreements (SLAs).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve network problems, ensuring timely solutions.
- Deliver technical support to end users.
- Install, upgrade, replace, or repair network hardware, including servers and workstations.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and shared resources.
- Test, image, and deploy laptops for users.
- Maintain system efficiency and compliance with SLAs.
- Ensure security best practices are upheld and enforced during support activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Skills and Experience
- Relevant degree, certifications, or equivalent education in Technology Services, with relevant work experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar technical support role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working with business leaders, clients, vendors, and peers.
- Adaptable and flexible to evolving responsibilities and job demands.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while providing ongoing user support.
- Demonstrates a passion for delivering high-quality work.
- Practical knowledge of LANs, WANs, servers, and desktop support in Windows environments, including Windows Server 2008/2008R2 & 2012/2012R2, with extensive experience in Active Directory in a multi-domain environment.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies, Citrix, SharePoint, and other business systems is a plus.
- Proficient in client operating systems such as Windows 7, 8, 8.1 & 10, MS Office, and Adobe Suite.
- Skilled with MS Office applications (2013/2016) and Global Protect.
- Basic understanding of Wi-Fi setup and security.
- Knowledge of HTML is a plus.
