About the Role:
As a Back End Developer at Science North,
you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our server-side applications. You will work closely with front-end developers, designers, and other stakeholders to create seamless and efficient systems that meet our customers’ needs. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality products and services, ensuring that we exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable server-side applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features that enhance user experience.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with team members.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our development processes.
- Contribute to the development of APIs and integration with third-party services.
- Assist in the planning and execution of software releases, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
- Document development processes, code changes, and technical specifications for future reference.
Requirements:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in back-end development, with a strong understanding of server-side technologies and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Ruby, Java).
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and data modeling concepts.
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and development.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
