Job Title: Personal Support Worker (PSW)
Location: Richmond Hill, ON L4S 1L2
Position Type: Casual (Mornings, Evenings, and Nights Available)
Job Summary: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) who are fluent in Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) to join our team. The PSW will provide essential personal care and support to our residents, ensuring their comfort and dignity in a culturally sensitive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
- Provide support with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary preferences and restrictions are respected.
- Monitor and report changes in residents' physical and emotional well-being to the nursing staff.
- Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote their mental and emotional health.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families, communicating effectively in Chinese.
- Document care provided and assist in maintaining accurate records.
Qualifications:
- Valid PSW certification or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Fluency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is required.
- Previous experience working in long-term care or with seniors is an asset.
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible availability to work casual shifts, including mornings, evenings, and nights.
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 8 per week
Flexible language requirement:
