Job Summary

The Research Assistant 1 oversees data entry& database management for multiple phase 2 to 4 trials & cancer disease sites, including local (in-house) and global industry (multi-centre) studies; liaise with study personnel, e.g.





sponsors/monitors; collaborate with Clinical Research Coordinators, Primary Investigators (PIs), and other staff/centres (e.g. physicians, clinical staff, outside hospitals) to ensure protocol adherence; coordinate and organize trial subject follow-up visits and other required study activities; facilitate sample processing & specimen shipping.

Regular Full Time

Rate of Pay: $25.25- 31.56 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week M-F

Approximately 2,900 Nursing, Health and other students ranging from secondary school to university graduate level programs receive training at LHSC every year. Qualifications

- Successful completion of a community college diploma in a health related discipline preferred
- Demonstrated computer skills including MS Office applications, Power Chart
- Demonstrated data base entry and clinical trial data management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of ICH Good Clinical Practice,





Health Canada and FDA regulations
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Well developed interpersonal, verbal and written skills for communicating effectively with health care professionals
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:

- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated
