Job Description
PHYSIOTHERAPIST
EXTENDICARE
Candidates are invited to apply for the position of Physiotherapist to work at Extendicare Michener Hill.
Reporting to the Recreation/Therapies Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for and have the following qualifications:
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Consults with and advises the Recreation/Therapies Manager and Nursing team concerning rehabilitative program needs and plans.
2. Coordinates and implements agreed upon programs.
3. Participates in assessments and determines appropriate intervention and equipment needs.
4. Assesses the physical capabilities of Residents.
5. Orders equipment to meet Resident needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy, with a minimum of a Degree certification.
2. Experience working in long term care preferred.
3. Effective human relations skills with a commitment to the team approach to resident care.
4. Demonstrate the ability to teach, motivate and empower residents/nurses.
