Job Details:

Position Title: Professor, Indigenous and Land-based Education

Status: Part-Time Professor (1-6 hours/week)

Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness

Campus/Location: North Campus

Salary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience.







What you will do:

A leader in polytechnic education, Humber invites talented, committed individuals interested in teaching on a part-time basis to take the first step in joining our dynamic faculty team for the Fall 2024 semester. We are accepting applications for part-time Professor in the Early Childhood Education program.

The incumbent will be responsible for teaching courses within the Early Childhood Education diploma program, with a specific focus on Indigenous ways of being, knowing, and doing land-based pedagogy. They will have experience with effectively weaving Indigenous ways of being, knowing, and doing in the classroom, as well as demonstrated capacity to build and/or support Indigenous land-and-culture-based pedagogical practices.







Candidates will be responsible for creating an effective adult learning environment, facilitating learning and classroom interaction, assessing student progress, providing student feedback, and participating in the curriculum development process using a collaborative model of engagement.

What you bring to the role:

Education and Experience/Skills:

- The successful candidate must hold credentials at the Bachelor’s level (Master’s preferred) with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in Early Childhood Education and eligibility for registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators.






- The successful candidate must also have experience teaching adults in a community college and/or university setting where they have had the opportunity to develop their teaching practice, understand the learning process; and demonstrate their dedication to student success.
- Due to the nature of this role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent creativity, teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills, and evaluation abilities.
- Experience teaching with e-learning (development and implementation) is an asset.
