About the Oppportunity
Title: Social Media Manager Reports To: Senior Director of Communications Status: Permanent Full-time
Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 competitive benefits and vacation

Position Summary:
The primary purpose of the Social Media Manager is to manage and grow TSO’s social media presence by developing creative, data-driven strategies and engaging content.





Through the development of content and strategy for our existing (and prospective) social media platforms, this role aims to increase audience awareness and engagement, build community, and enhance the TSO’s visibility and reputation.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develops and executes a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with TSO’s brand voice, increases engagement, and grows the audience across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Manages projects from concept to execution and evaluation, ensuring timely delivery and quality output.
- Produces, shoots, and edits engaging social media content, including short-form videos, graphics, and stories,





that resonate with target audiences; leverages existing content from various departments and maximizes its potential by adapting it to different social media channels.
- Develops and manages an editorial calendar to ensure content is strategically scheduled and shared across channels.
- Engages with the online community, responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and brand-consistent manner; monitors user-generated content and community sentiment, reporting issues to supervisor and senior management as needed.
- Collaborates across teams to plan and execute social media campaigns that promote key concerts, initiatives, and events.
- Identifies storytelling opportunities and integrates them into campaigns, ensuring that social media efforts support broader communication goals.






- Partners with influencers and community figures to extend the TSO’s reach.
- Tracks, analyzes, and reports on key performance metrics to refine social media strategies, ensuring data-driven decision-making. Prepares regular performance and benchmarking reports for internal review, providing insights that help shape future campaigns.
- Stays up to date on social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to ensure the TSO’s social media presence remains relevant and impactful.
- Contributes to a briefing-first culture by proactively communicating creative ideas and project updates to stakeholders.

Nature and Scope of Responsibility:

- Manages the TSO’s social media channels, including content planning, scheduling, and community engagement,





ensuring end-to-end project management for all social media initiatives.
- Collaborates with freelancers and content creators to develop multimedia assets for social media, providing clear briefings to ensure content is high-quality, brand-consistent, and aligned with strategic goals.
- Ensures social media efforts are integrated with broader Marketing & Communications campaigns, effectively adapting content for optimal performance across platforms.

Experience & Qualifications:

- Undergraduate degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Arts Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years managing social media accounts for an organization required, preferably in the arts, entertainment, or cultural sector.






- Proven ability to create and manage both organic and paid content across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, including proficiency in video editing.
- Strong understanding of best practices across a variety of social media platforms, as well as analytics and planning tools (e.g., content scheduling platforms, Meta Business Suite, etc.).
- Experience working with graphic designers and/or graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to tailor content to different audiences and platforms.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

- Hybrid work environment - opportunity to work remotely as well as in the office.
- Takes part in the Communications team’s regular concert duty rotation at the concert hall during the September to June season, which may include photo and video capture, shadowing photographers, and updating social channels live, answering patron questions, or other duties as assigned.
- Performs work on a computer while seated for extended periods of time.
- Regular use of a smartphone for extended periods of time for content creation, posting, and community management.

The TSO requires all employees to provide proof of fully-vaccinated status, with vaccines approved by Health Canada. A person is considered fully-vaccinated if they have completed the required regime for a COVID-19 vaccine and 14 days have passed since their final dose.
