Control Panel Builder - Hourly

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, Electrical Control Panel Builders are responsible for completing all reasonably assigned activities. Accuracy of all work must be of the highest level. All work tasks must be performed safely and on-time.

Electrical Control Panel Builders will use their experience and training to build and wire Industrial Equipment; such as - MCCs, Motor Control Panels, PLC Cabinets, Power Distribution Panels, Kiosks, E-houses, and other equipment which we manufacture are our location.





They may also be required to go to customer sites to install and commission equipment we have manufactured; mostly but not limited too the lower mainland of BC.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Primarily Wiring and Testing Industrial Control Panels

- Mounting equipment on the back panels, and inside enclosures, MCCs, Kiosks, or Containers.

- Bending conduit, installing fittings, punching holes, drilling and tapping, cutting holes and knockouts, clean burs & sharp edges, touch up paint

- Wiring equipment to drawings; working with the Shop supervisor and Production manager to improve drawings and provide redlines.

- Follow manufacturing standards and assembly procedures on all projects.

- Use of industrial labelling machines, terminal labellers and ETL/CSA/uL label printers

- Understanding of IEEE and uL508a wire colour codes, as well as CEC and CSA 22.2.14 Colour codes

- Understanding of our shop CSA/uL certifications and requirements

- Understanding of wire/cable sizing, conductor temperature ratings and various deratings

- Ensure compliance with Provincial, National and Industrial Standards (WCB, UL,





CSA CEC).

- Work on customer sites installing, wiring, and testing equipment. (and Adhering to customer health and safety standards)

- Upholding Company Policies and Procedures, Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality Assurance

- Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times.

- Keep personal tools in applicable tool cart, in a dynamic shop layout.

- Complete tasks using effective time management and utilization of resources.

- Ensure safe and proper operation of all equipment, always using eye wear when using equipment.

- Maintain a professional and courteous manner at all time.

Shop shift is normally Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm . May be adjusted to suite customers and an evening shift may be added at times.

REQUIREMENTS







- Grade12 or equivalent trades training with experience

- Experience specifically in wiring panels, industrial panels, Kiosks, or containers is a requirement.

- Willingness to put safety first and follow all shop guidelines

- Reliable means of being at work on time every day

- Reliable means of being at work on customer sites as required (in lower mainland BC)

- BCIT or equivalent degree or diploma in relevant shop subject an asset but not required.

- Application to training program, Apprentice status, or Registered Red Seal Electrician is an asset but not required

- Registered British Columbia FSR an asset but not required

- Forklift training as asset but not required

- Computer skills an asset but not required
