Education Assistant

Pay Grid: Professional = $38,038 - $53,599 annually
Reporting to: School Admin Team
Summary of Duties:
The Education Assistant will follow the daily schedule of the class they are assisting. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Morning, Recess, Lunch supervision; math and reading programs; and other classroom duties.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
- To provide student assistance in and out of class under the direction of the School Admin team.
- Working with other professionals
- Ensuring a reporting format is established and maintained
- Keep a daily journal
- Ability to follow instruction as outlined in student improvement plan
- Perform other related duties as requested.
Experience and Attributes:
- Must have Grade 12, ECE or other related certificates, diploma an asset
- 2+ years of experience working with kids
- Experience working with special needs children/youth an asset
- Some knowledge of child development
- Some understanding of behaviour problems would be an asset
- B.C. Standard First Aid Certificate for working with young children (recommended but not mandatory).
- Able to foster professional relationships between teacher and parents to support students’ best interest and to work
- Knowledge of Lil’wat culture an asset
- Must be able to provide a clear criminal record check, including the vulnerable sector
