Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

As a Public Relations Associate, you will play a vital role in promoting the Government of Nunavut’s initiatives, programs, and services. Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

1. Media Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets. Prepare press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to effectively convey our messages.

2. Content Creation: Craft engaging content for various platforms, including social media, newsletters, and the government website. Ensure that all communications align with our brand voice and messaging.

3. Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing public events, press conferences, and community outreach initiatives.





Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful event logistics and promotion.

4. Crisis Communication: Support the development and implementation of crisis communication strategies. Monitor media coverage and public sentiment to address any emerging issues proactively.

5. Research and Analysis: Conduct research on public relations trends, audience preferences, and media coverage. Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and recommend improvements.

6. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including government officials, community organizations, and the public, to foster positive relationships and enhance our outreach efforts.

7. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on public relations activities, media coverage,





and audience engagement metrics. Use insights to inform future strategies and initiatives.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with a range of experience levels, from entry-level to senior positions. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

- Education: A degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level positions.

- Experience: Relevant experience in public relations, communications, or a related field is an asset. We welcome applications from candidates at all levels of experience.

- Personality Traits: We seek confident and dedicated individuals who are passionate about public relations and committed to making a positive impact.

- Soft Skills:





Strong negotiation skills, effective time management, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are essential.
