Position Overview:
As a Project Manager at BC Transit, you will play a crucial role in overseeing various projects that contribute to our mission of providing outstanding transit services. You will be responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and resources while ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation. Ensure projects are executed on time and within budget while meeting quality standards.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements,
provide updates, and address any concerns. Foster strong relationships to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to stay on track.
- Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery. Encourage team collaboration and foster a positive working environment.
- Performance Monitoring: Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Prepare regular status reports for management and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones and any issues that may arise.
- Continuous Improvement:
Evaluate project outcomes and identify areas for improvement. Implement best practices and lessons learned to enhance future project performance.
Qualifications:
- Experience: We welcome applications from candidates at all experience levels, from entry-level to senior-level project management roles. Relevant experience in project management, preferably within the public transportation or related sectors, is an asset.
- Education: A degree in project management, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
- Personality Traits: We are looking for independent and reliable individuals who can take initiative and work autonomously while also being effective team players.
- Soft Skills:
Strong presentation skills are essential for communicating project updates and engaging stakeholders. Strategic planning abilities will be crucial for developing and executing project plans that align with our organizational goals.
