Information Technology Project Manager (1 year contract) We are seeking an IT Project Manager with a proven track record in financial services, dealer networks, and insurance. This role involves leading the development and implementation of strategic business and technology programs, encompassing complex IT deliverables with significant impact. The position requires managing intricate levels of functional integration and coordinating across multiple disciplines. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and energetic, with a strong ability to understand business outcomes and stakeholder impacts. The successful candidate will effectively partner with key resources and coordinate efforts to deliver on the defined scope.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate with stakeholders within the organization and vendor partners to define business solutions
Perform the full range of the Project Management Lifecycle: discovery initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing
Recommend and leverage best practices and principles where applicable to deliver value sooner to the business through a defined minimum viable product (MVP) methodology
Define, document and manage project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents
Effectively communicate project expectations to project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
Manage the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying risks & gaps impacting target milestones
Leverage steering and executive committees for decision-making, change management, and communications
Create and facilitate a collaborative and positive project team environment through applying proven soft-skills
Use appropriate project management tools and techniques to track project performance
Conduct risk assessments to identify factors capable of minimizing success of a project
Interview and coordinate the recruitment and orientation of project personnel
Establish and maintain positive trust relationships with third party contractors and vendors
Produce accurate reports of project status and trajectory and present to management
Organize meetings to discuss and review project operational strategies
Oversee the allocation of funds, as well as availability of resources required for a project
Build & implement change management plan to educate and train users to operate new systems or equipment to ensure smooth transition from old technological systems to new ones
Evaluate the progress of project to determine the need for adjustment in strategy
QUALIFICATIONS:
Financial services industry experience required (MGA/Investment Dealer)
Exceptional ability to lead people in change (soft skills, collaboration)
Post-secondary education in Business or Information Technology
5+ years of program/project management experience in a fast-paced technology environment
Complete understanding of solution development principles and methodologies
Strong understanding/experience delivering solutions
Experience to create and deliver quality presentations utilizing PowerPoint to project and senior leader stakeholders
Preferred experience with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project and Visio
Ability to quickly identify client needs, reprioritize quickly and approach tasks in an adaptable manner
Ability to summarize project results and explain complex issues in presentation format
The ability to write in a clear and succinct manner
Excellent planning and time management skills
Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Extremely collaborative in a team environment
