As the Nordic Area Director at Cypress Mountain, you will lead with purpose, overseeing the heartbeat of our winter operations. From our pristine Nordic skiing and snowshoe trail systems to the exhilarating Tube Park, and from the historic Hollyburn Lodge to the Nordic Café. Your leadership will shape every aspect of our guests’ experience. You will guide a dedicated team of 150 Nordic seasonal employees across seven departments, all united by a shared commitment to excellence. Together, you’ll create unforgettable moments for over 100,000 guests each season,
making every visit to Cypress Mountain an extraordinary adventure. Step into this role and inspire a team that sets the standard for exceptional winter experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to the following):
Health & Safety/Risk Management:
Champion, adhere to, deliver and promote all OHS company policies, programs, and procedures, including documentation.
Ensures all Team members have completed annual training and on-boarding, including OHS documentation.

Customer Service:
Lead the team in delivering exceptional experiences for all guests in the Nordic Area.
Be readily available to assist with any situations that arise, offering support and guidance to resolve guest inquiries effectively.
Maintain, support and grow positive relationships with other departments, clubs, groups, NGO’s and government organizations.
Financial Management:
Monitor and expand existing revenue streams and seek new revenue avenues.
Manage operating costs, labour and margin in all lines of business.
Operations Management:
Provide oversight and coordination of operations throughout the Nordic area to ensure maximum efficiency.
Coordinate with operational support departments (Grooming, Snow Removal, F&B;, Maintenance).
QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to give and receive feedback.
Strong Project Management skills.
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
Proficient with MS Office and other computer systems and applications.
Motivated to take on new challenges and responsibilities, able to show initiative and adapt to change.
Ability to work a flexible schedule according to the demands of the business.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
High School or equivalent.
4+ years relevant management experience in the ski industry.
Nordic Skiing experience an asset.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Legally able to work in Canada.
Hold a valid BC Driver’s License.
Have a dependable/insured vehicle required to get to/from work.
WAGE/BENEFITS:
Wage: $80,000/annually (prorated)
