We operate full-day early learning and childcare centers for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, along with before and after school extended-day programs for kindergarten and school-aged children at over 27 locations across the Greater Hamilton Area.

Position: Before and After School Early Childhood Educator
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Before and After School Early Childhood Educator to join our team!
Location: Ray Lewis Centre
Hours: 27.75 hours/week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 9:30am and 3:15pm – 6:00pm
Pay Rate (includes wage grants):
RECE $27.72/hr; Non RECE - $25.18/hrAbout the Role:
Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Before & After School Early Childhood Educator will create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that stimulate the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth of the children.Why Work with Us?

What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-year experience working directly with children, or in a childcare setting with school-aged children.
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or equivalent qualifications,
such as a Child & Youth Worker, OCT – Teacher, or Recreation & Leisure diploma.
Certifications:
- Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR)
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations
Skills & Knowledge:
- Familiarity with How Does Learning Happen? (an asset)
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement,
and evaluate activities that support children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children in your care at all times.
- Create and maintain an engaging, warm, and welcoming environment for children and families.
- Conduct daily check-ins and documentation according to Ministry of Education requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board faculty and maintain professional relationships.
