Our client is a top financial institution with significant North American holdings. They have operations across most major verticals, including institutional & corporate, wealth management, private client, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking.
Introduction: Prime Hires is seeking a skilled Office Clerk to join our client.
Contract Dates: 8 months
Pay Range: $24.50 per hour
Business Hours: Monday to Friday
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure payment dates adhere to legislative due dates to minimize penalties for late payments
- Set up payments on Tax filing service or government revenue authority websites and obtain appropriate approvals
- Follow up on approvals as necessary to ensure payments are completed on time
- Provide monthly payment forecasts and confirmation of actual payments to Treasury to manage cash flow requirements and avoid overdraft charges
- Deposit cheques received, and track cheques expected from tax authorities and notify Treasury of expected and actual deposits
- Create accounting entries for government cheques and direct deposits (cash accounting)
- Fill out tax forms related to certain tax payments
- Update authorizations to tax accounts with the tax authorities
- Act as the Electronic Services Manager for Quebec’s ClicSEQUR platform which is used by multiple companies and functions within the Manulife group of companies
- Obtain approval for payment of vendor invoices and submit requests for payments to accounts payable using Manulife payment software (ezPay, Ivalua) (including appropriate accounting entries)
- Coordinate department equipment and access requirements for new and existing staff and other ServiceNow requests
Experience & Qualification Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience - Proven office management, or administrative experience
- 5-7 year of experience - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including SharePoint and OneNote
- Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with accuracy and consistency is a requirement
- Adept at learning and using a variety of software and web applications
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning unfamiliar technology and software applications

- Strong communication skills are required - ability to communicate effectively including effective interaction and expectation management, as well as strong interpersonal skills for inquiry and dialogue
