We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the construction industry, located in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in processing project billings, handling sales invoices, and conducting bank reconciliations.
This role involves working in a detail-oriented and organized environment where you will have the opportunity to utilize your skills in Microsoft Excel, Project Billing, Bank Reconciliations, Accruals, and Prepaids.
Responsibilities :
- Handle and process project billings from the project management team on a monthly basis
- Generate between 15 to 20 sales invoices
- Prepare and distribute weekly reports
- Perform reconciliation tasks for multiple bank accounts and credit cards
- Compile and analyze monthly equipment reports, identifying any anomalies
- Prepare and submit GST returns
- Manage accruals and prepaid journal entries
- Maintain accurate customer credit records
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory
- Previous experience with Project Billing is required
- Must have experience with Bank Reconciliations
- Familiarity with Accruals is essential
- Knowledge in handling Prepaids is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of construction / contractor industry is a plus.
