Department Overview: The Data Entry team is responsible for accurate data verification, entry, retrieval, and editing. The team operates with a collaborative culture, emphasizing attention to detail and efficiency.
Position Purpose: As a Data Entry Operator, you will operate a computer terminal to verify and enter data from various sources while maintaining high levels of accuracy and speed.
Key Accountabilities:
- Read and interpret source documents (e.g., checks, sales reports) and enter data into specified fields using keyboards or scanners.
- Compile, sort, and verify data accuracy before entry.
- Identify and correct data entry errors; report issues to supervisors.
- Compare entered data with source documents to detect errors.
- Maintain logs of activities and completed work.
Knowledge & Experience:
- University degree with strong computer skills.
- 5-9 years of related experience; prior experience in the financial industry/operations is an asset.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient and accurate data entry (7000+ keystrokes per hour).
- Collaborate with team members to support daily operations, especially during increased workloads due to business acquisition.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) daily, with advanced Excel skills preferred (formulas, macros).
Skills & Competencies:
- Soft Skills: Attention to detail, time management, organization, adaptability, problem-solving, teamwork, effective communication, confidentiality, critical thinking, patience, and multitasking.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
Work Environment:
- Type: Hybrid (3 days in-office mandatory).
- Location: Toronto, ON
- Training: In-office training required.
Language Proficiency:
- English (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in data manipulation and analysis.
