Clinical Applications Analyst – Full-Time

Job Description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic university computer science graduate interested in a career with a growing diagnostic imaging practice in the healthcare industry.
The candidate will have a keen interest to learn new clinical applications and process as well as broaden their responsibilities over time in a growing IT department. The candidate will become a seasoned Clinical Applications Analyst by working in variety of roles including helpdesk support, application support, application training and participate in the in the selection, testing and deployment of new applications leveraging leading-edge technologies. The candidate will report to the IT Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire a solid understanding of Beam’s clinical processes, application architecture and workflow between applications to support these processes.
- Acquire a thorough understanding of all clinical applications to provide training and support to radiologists and staff.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and/or vendors to resolve clinical application issues.
- Provide IT helpdesk support to staff and radiologists so they are able to provide exemplary patient care.
- Develop and maintain workflow and information models that describe the clinical process and related application workflow.
- Support clinical application enhancement projects by communicating with stakeholders to gather clinical requirements, coordinate test activities and collaborate with team members to develop and implement solutions.
- Develop a working knowledge of ITIL practices and provide direct support to these practices such as Problem, Change, Release, Security and Asset management.
- Adhere to all privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures as they relate to BEAM, our patients, and our employees.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Engineering sciences from an accredited Canadian university with specific courses in Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Any of the following would be considered assets:
- Diploma or certificate in Medical Diagnostic Healthcare Informatics,
- Experience working in a radiology or healthcare environment or experience using RIS/PACS systems,
- Comp TIA A+ Certification for Computer Support and Service Technicians,
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent certificate,
- Training or experience working with Office 365.
- Some experience as an business analyst, application analyst, application trainer or helpdesk analyst would be an asset
- Customer service focus with the ability to develop trusted relationships and to work both strategically and operationally.
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication, facilitation and negotiation
- Experience with Microsoft and desktop technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize deliverables and effectively manage time. Must be able to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time, with completion of those tasks requiring minimal supervision and a high degree of accountability

Shifts:
- Regular business hours with minimal after hours and on-call required.
- Must have the ability to travel within Calgary and area for clinic and data center as operationally required.
- Works in an office environment, with prolonged sitting and computer keyboarding.
- Position is located primarily at our Trinity clinic in Calgary. There will be the opportunity to work from home occasionally once training is complete.
