Job Description
We are SLR Consulting (Canada), a 550+ team of advisory,
environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals across 18 office locations in Canada. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of advisory and over 30 technical environmental and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability, we are Making Sustainability Happen.
As our new Senior Air Quality Specialist, you will play an important role on a diverse team working closely with clients to provide consulting expertise and develop solutions to unique problems.
Role
You will take on a senior role in project delivery as well as mentorship and leadership responsibilities with our junior team members.
We’ll look to you to bring in-depth knowledge of air quality concerns, with expertise in conducting emissions estimates, compliance modelling, and technical report writing.
Knowledge of a wide range of business sectors and the ability to work on multi-disciplinary teams will also be key to your success. Specific knowledge in Environmental Impact Assessment of large projects from an air quality perspective in the Mining, Power/Energy sectors is desired.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Participate in a variety of projects through study design, analytical QA/QC, advisory services, specialized field surveys, and review of technical reports
- Support Environmental Impact Assessment Projects from an Air Quality Perspective
- Prepare federal,
provincial and/or municipal permits and applications
- Focus on initiating, developing, building, and expanding successful client relationships
- Develop proposals and budgets with the financial acumen to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget
- Provide technical and business mentorship to other staff members
- Participate nationally with the Air Quality team and other technical disciplines throughout our Canadian operations

- The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:
- Approximately 8+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with a special focus in air quality
- Ability to develop business opportunities and have an excellent approach to client service
- Knowledge and practical application of health & safety requirements
- Solid understanding of provincial and federal air quality regulations, guidelines, modelling protocols and best practices
- Familiarity with air dispersion models, including AERMOD and CALPUFF considered an asset
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams across Canada
- Degree in environmental science, engineering, or related studies
- Professional status or eligibility for professional status with a professional organization would be an asset
