Are you the one we’re looking for?

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Housing Manager who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment; to our clients, families, and each other.

Accountable to the Director, the Housing Manager delivers operations for the Asylum Seekers Assistance Program (ASAP)





and Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) Programs operated by Wesley in Hamilton and Brantford.

The role works with the housing supervisor and frontline staff to deliver direct service support for the programs that are aligned with Wesley’s vision, mission values, and strategic plan.

This position is a non-unionized, full-time, temporary position. The contract end date is December 31, 2025. The salary is $70,000 per annum. Hours per week are 37.5.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide support and assign work to supervisor and front-line staff to ensure the effective, efficient operation of the portfolio within the general policies and guidelines of Wesley, contractual obligations of the funder, and best practices for the sector;







- Work with the supervisor and front-line staff to implement the day-to-day operational plans for the portfolio that are aligned with Wesley’s vision and strategic plan and clearly outlined in Operational Manuals for each team.

- Actively participate in the resolution of all program issues from day-to-day issues to formal disciplinary / dispute resolution processes.

- Work with the supervisor and staff to ensure that all relevant legislation, regulations, contractual obligations, and guidelines are met by each program including maintaining accurate program and service records as per funder and organizational requirements;

- Liaise with community service providers to address housing, settlement, and other resettlement-related needs.







- Coach and support supervisors and front-line staff to develop and expand on skills to apply best practices and improve service delivery using approaches aligned with the organization’s program of Invest in our People.

- Work with supervisors and front-line staff to execute procedures to manage and mitigate risks to the organization.

What you will bring:

- Education and Experience: University degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master of Social Work or related field preferred. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in management within the non-profit sector.

- Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

- Language Proficiency:





Fluency in English and a second language such as Arabic, Persian, Dari, Swahili, French, or Pashto.

- Experience with Newcomer Communities: Demonstrated experience working with newcomers to Canada, understanding the barriers to social and economic participation.

- Computer Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and relevant database management systems.

- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to lead, inspire, and mentor staff in a culturally diverse environment.

- Certifications: First Aid/CPR certifications are required.

- Other: A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are assets. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.
