About the Role
At Family Services of Greater Vancouver, we’ve been helping people in crisis since 1928. As a non-profit, we help people develop skills and knowledge, empowering our neighbours to create positive change in their lives. Our team is made up of more than 420 staff, including expert counsellors and support workers who provide compassionate, client-centred care to youth experiencing homelessness, families and children impacted by trauma, victims of domestic violence, and other vulnerable people from an evidence-based, trauma-informed lens.

JOB SUMMARY
Working within the mission, vision, values and person-centered philosophy of the Agency, and with a strong awareness for detail, this role manages a high volume of payables within tight deadlines. Working closely with a small team, the Accounts Payable Administrator works collaboratively with other business units with the organization and with Finance team members to achieve the operational goals of the Agency. It actively supports the Agency’s awareness and goals around diversity and inclusion.
JOB Duties:
· Enter invoices and appropriate documentation into the Agency’s accounting software and verify the coding, receipts, tax amounts and approval of those invoices in accordance with Company policy
· Ensure the Accounting system is updated regularly for accuracy of vendor contact and payment information
· Prepare payment batches and process payments via checks, EFT ,
and other payment methods
· Monitor the accounts payable email mailbox for invoices and related correspondence
· Answer vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
· Maintain the accounts payable electronic filing system, electronic invoices and general accounting data
· Provide feedback to the Associate Director of Finance regarding vendors such as capturing discount terms, invoicing errors, electronic payment opportunities and payment with credit card
· Administering any needed updates / changes to corporate credit cards
· Assist with special projects as needed
· Other duties as required

Work Hours: 28 Hours per week - Maternity leave coverage. There is a possibility that the term may be extended.
Salary: Grade 9 Step 1 - Rate: $28.81 per hour
Location: Vancouver Office - 1638 East Broadway with the possibility of working Hybrid

What you bring:
Education, Training, Experience
· Certificate or diploma in accounting, with 3 years of recent, related experience
· Or, equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
· Organized, detailed-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Demonstrated experience working well as a member of a team
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Additional Requirements
· Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
