DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Heavy duty equipment Field service technician to join our Distribution Business in Mount Pearl NL.
The candidate will be a heavy-duty journeyman technician with field service experience.
This role is a
hybrid role
which will include Power Gen on the job training, Marine applications, new project startups as well as Cummins engine diagnostics and repairs.
We are looking for a Red seal mechanic certified technician who is also able to complete Commercial inspections on vehicles.
Overtime is required and travel throughout the island is required regularly with all meals, accommodations provided and allowances as per the CBA Local 855.

RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role,
you will make an impact in the following ways: Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on Generator or component at the customer site with minimal direction.
Engages with customer in a courteous and professional manner.
Ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
Intermediate level of workshop related experience required.
Some commercial inspections experience
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience.
(Intermediate):
Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
Startup and repair of bypass transfer switch.
Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation.
(Advanced):
Setup, troubleshoot and repair basic paralleling generator systems.
Understanding switchgear schematics.
Able to train Entry/Intermediate Technicians.
