The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Hematology/Oncology and Nephrology Care Team, the dietitian is responsible for the nutritional management of children within the Hematology/Oncology and Nephrology Team. The Clinical Dietitian works collaboratively as a member of the multidisciplinary team and participates in the planning and program development. The Clinical Dietitian will assist in the education of Health Centre staff, dietetic interns,
and affiliating students on normal and therapeutic nutrition.
Hours of Work
TBD, the ability to participate in weekend/holiday calls is required.
Your Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree with major credits in nutrition or dietetics required.
2. Successful completion of a dietetic internship program is required.
3. Current license to practice with NS Dietetic Association, or eligible to obtain a license, required.
4. Previous experience in a health care setting required.
5. Previous experience in Hematology/Oncology and Nephrology is an asset.
6. A master's degree is considered an asset.
7. Experience in pediatric nutrition, enteral, and parenteral nutrition, and nutritional counseling required.
8. Excellent time management, organization,
and problem-solving skills.
9. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, as well as the ability to work independently.
10. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to family-centered care.
11. Competency in other languages is an asset.
