Position Summary:

As the Junior Project Manager – Construction, you will be a key member of the Construction & Design team, reporting directly to VP of Design & Construction. You will have the opportunity to manage new restaurant builds and reimage projects for our brands, working with franchisees, vendors, contractors, and our team to create spaces that facilitate extraordinary guest experiences!

In This Role, You Will:

- Manage new build, reimage and resale construction projects; responsible for creating, updating, tracking and maintaining all relevant information including quotes, invoices, status reports and schedule documentation through project pre-development, construction, and completion phases
- Prepare and coordinate project documents and consultants drawings for RFQ’s, Tenders, Bid Summaries, quotes, invoices etc.






- Maintain regular communication and working relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of construction activities, including site visits
- Research local municipal codes and regulations for selected market areas and active construction projects, and work with the city officials on permits, occupancies, etc.
- Act as resource for building/fire/health/liquor license inspections when required
- Review and manage contractor Construction Execution Plans, work scopes and schedules, including cost control, change orders, site progress, and payments
- Coordinate equipment, signage and IT/POS/AV for openings
- Complete final construction walk-through, and follow through to completion
- Coordinate and supervise Landlord's premises improvement projects, as necessary, and ensure they are administered according to lease schedules






- Any other duties assigned by VP of Design and Construction
- Heavy travel required with approx. 50% overnight and 25% day depending on the candidate’s and project locations

- Strong financial knowledge and understanding of the local and national construction markets including costs of labour, materials & other resources

- Interested in continuous improvement & learning about new technologies/techniques and industry best standards for making constructive suggestions to identify/test/adopt opportunities for the benefit of the company
- The ability to perform with integrity, striving to do the right thing and help to create an environment built on trust, honesty and respect

What You Bring:

- Comprehensive understanding of the development, design and construction industries including techniques, processes, procedures, drawings and permits






- Post-secondary degree/diploma in architecture, civil/mech./elect. engineering, building technology, construction management, or a related field and/or equivalent work experienc
- PMP certification and minimum 6-8 years progressive Project Management experience in construction with detailed knowledge of construction methodology and processes within the restaurant & franchise industry preferred
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, Adobe, Bluebeam Revu and Construction/Project Management software
- Strong negotiation, communication and management skills. Able to manage design consultants, contractors, kitchen equipment and sign vendors, etc.
- Knowledge of construction processes and techniques, project planning and budgeting,





construction materials/specifications, building codes and permitting, zoning laws, contracts and contract law, mechanical/electrical systems, kitchen equipment and restaurant operations
- Fundamental understanding of commercial development, design and construction industries including processes, procedures, drawings and permits in all provinces
- Demonstrate success building and maintaining long term client, consultant, supplier contractor relationships

JOB TYPE: Full-time

SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
