The salary scale for Professional Support 2 is based on steps that range from $64,783.04 - $86,126.92. New Professional Support employees may receive up to a maximum of seven steps for relevant occupational experience which is $75,439.19 annually. Please note that the salary will be pro-rated and adjusted to reflect the 50% part-time role.

What you will be doing…







The Skilled Trades Navigator is a term part time position (50%) that will collaborate with the Department of Education and/or other government partners, and NSCC staff in the School of Trades and Transportation , Student Services, Admissions, etc., to support students to develop an education and life skills plan. Their role will require in-depth coaching and navigation with each participant to maximize educational success and meaningful future employment.

The Skilled Trades Navigator Navigator is responsible for the promotion, planning and implementation of the project objectives, activities and outcomes. In collaboration with partners and faculty.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

- The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary diploma in Social Services, Education, Community Development.






- You have a minimum of one year of recent relevant occupational and/or community experience within the Justice System or Social Services .
- Previous experience in a skilled trade would be considered an asset.
- You possess demonstrated experience working in collaborative team environments.
- You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
- Familiarity with the skilled trades industry would be considered a significant asset, ensuring the Navigator understands the pathways and requirements for meaningful employment post-graduation.
- You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience

- You are committed to ongoing professional development, ensuring that their skills remain relevant and that they can offer the most up-to-date advice and support to students.
- You show a strong commitment to community involvement. You are able to build and maintain relationships with community partners,





ensuring that students have access to culturally appropriate and locally available resources.
