We are seeking a Director of Finance for a company based in North York . In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing budget preparation, financial reporting, and other ad hoc projects. This is a contract role for 4 months and requires the individual to work in a hybrid model.Responsibilities:- Collaborate with various teams to gather and consolidate information for the operating and capital budget.- Monitor year-to-date actual versus budget variances and liaise with management to ensure effective utilization of financial resources.- Prepare and present regular projected cash flow statements to the management and finance committee.- Ensure the accuracy of various funder budget submissions and financial reporting documents,
meeting all financial reporting obligations and deadlines.- Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and related variance analysis.- Prepare and present monthly management accounts to respective directors and department heads.- Oversee the setup and maintenance of fixed assets register, ensuring its reconciliation with accounting records and physical inventory of assets.- Prepare periodic financial forecasts to ensure effective use of resources.- Use 'Sage Intacct' for various financial operations.- Oversee the year-end audits and annual budgeting processes.- Must possess at least 7 years of experience in a finance-related role, preferably in a leadership position.- Proficiency in annual budget creation and management is essential.- Demonstrated experience in budgeting and forecasting is required.- Knowledge and experience in using Sage Intacct software is a must.- Previous involvement in year-end audits is a significant advantage.- A bachelor's degree in Finance,
Business Administration, or a related field is necessary; an MBA or equivalent qualification is preferred.- Excellent leadership and team management skills are crucial.- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with complex financial data.- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.- Proven strategic planning abilities and experience driving financial strategy at an organizational level.- Solid understanding of financial laws and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.- High ethical standards and professional integrity.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary. - Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
