Process/Project Engineer

Our client is a growing consulting engineering firm based in Ontario and Quebec. They are currently looking to expand their engineering team by adding a Process/Project Engineer, on a permanent basis. In this role, you will support multi-disciplined engineering designs for the industrial and commercial sectors.

Responsibilities:

1. Produce the necessary design deliverables for the completion of chemical and industrial projects.
2. Produce designs, studies, cost estimates, tender documents, and technical reports.
3. Provide project coordination.
4. Define scope and project objectives with clients and prepare proposals.
5. Assist in process design, cost estimates, and studies to meet client needs.

Liaise with clients on technical requirements and project timelines.
7. Produce project deliverables including scope definition, process flow diagrams, piping, and instrumentation diagrams.
8. Perform detailed calculations for mass and energy balances, pipe and pump sizing, and equipment sizing.
9. Prepare equipment technical specifications and make recommendations and selections based on project requirements.
10. Prepare specification and tender packages for vendors and contractor quotations.
11. Review and approve vendor shop drawings.
12. Participate in PHA and HAZOP reviews.
13. Work with CAD technicians to produce construction and installation drawing packages.
14. Ensure all work performed complies with company procedures, codes, and regulations.
15. Coordinate equipment procurement and field work for commissioning and project support.

Requirements:

1. University degree in Chemical Engineering and 5+ years of demonstrated work experience in industrial process design.
2. Strong analytical,





problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
3. Proficient with the Microsoft suite of programs (Word, Excel, Office, Project).
4. Experience with process simulation.
5. Understanding of instrumentation and PLC systems.
6. Driven self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Attention to detail and results-focused.
9. Exceptional communication skills.
10. Proficiency in French is an asset (but not required).
11. Valid driver's license.
