About the Role
Our client is immediately hiring an experienced Site Superintendent to support the delivery of a 6-story wood frame mixed-use project in the Burnaby area.
Role Description
You will have the opportunity to oversee management oversight of all phases of a 6-story wood frame condo project, including first floor commercial units and an underground parkade. You will be responsible for managing employees, subcontractors, materials and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding with quality, on schedule and within budget. After project completion, you will immediately begin another upcoming project with similar specifications.
Responsibilities
1.
Lead all work on construction site to ensure compliance with design, project specifications, regulations and safety codes.
2. Oversee all stages of the project from excavation to occupancy, including construction of the underground parkade.
3. Manage site start-up, organize and coordinate subcontractors.
4. Ensure all required permits are obtained.
5. Ensure that safe work practices and procedures are being followed onsite at all times.
6. Coordinate and direct all workers on the worksite.
7. Ensure accurate and timely project close date; adjust working schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
8. Work with the Construction Project Manager to resolve any constructional issues that may arise.
9. Complete jobsite administration duties.
10. Ensure proper materials and quantities of materials are onsite prior to daily work commencing.
11. Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and report on progression of building.
12. Supervise all workers onsite; provide feedback to workers,
enforce company policy and administer disciplinary measures as required.
13. Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and associated work; create contingency plans to mitigate risk.
14. Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
15. Develop, monitor and oversee quality control measures on worksites.
16. Ensure building inspections are completed periodically throughout the construction phases to ensure buildings meet specifications of clients.
Skills and Requirements
1. Experience as a Site Superintendent on low/mid-rise wood frame building projects with a parkade underneath.
2. Ability and proven experience leading large projects from start to finish as the site leader.
3. Effectiveness in the areas of construction safety and productivity.
4.
Strong communication, integration, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
5. Dedication to health and safety in the workplace.
6. Superior leadership qualities with a demonstrated track record of dealing successfully with internal and external customers.
7. Results-oriented with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines.
8. Possess a valid driver's license.
Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 a year
