Description
The Department of Physiology & Pharmacology in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Technician. This Part-time Fixed Term Part-time position is for approximately 6 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
This position reports to the Principal Investigator.
The Research Technician will perform experiments and assist in managing the Colicos Lab, part of the Hotchkiss Brain Institute (HBI).

Qualifications / Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant area, or a combination of education and experience in a related area
- Laboratory research experience is required
- Experience with Peoplesoft is strongly preferred
- Must have experience and be prepared to work with animals (rats and mice)
- Must be familiar with Matlab, and general computer work (Microsoft)
- Demonstrated strong communication, team and customer service skills, and an ability to exercise judgment within established guidelines
- A positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are critical to success
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
