Advance Paper Box Ltd. is a leading folding carton manufacturer located in Winnipeg, MB, specializing in custom packaging solutions. We serve a broad range of industries including food, healthcare, and consumer goods across North America. We are looking for a driven and dynamic Business Development Specialist to join our team and support our continued growth.
Position Summary:
The Business Development Specialist will play a key role in expanding our customer base by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the folding carton packaging sector. The individual will cultivate strong relationships with potential clients through travel, in-person meetings, and relationship-building strategies. Working closely with the Sales Manager, you will receive support in identifying potential targets and developing approaches to secure new business.
Job Location: Onsite, Mon to Fri- 8 am to 4:30 pm
Salary range: $95,000/yr - $120,000/yr (plus bonus upon meeting targets)
Responsibilities:
- Identify and target new business opportunities within the folding cartons industry.
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients through regular in-person meetings and consistent follow-up.
- Travel extensively to meet with clients, prospects, and industry contacts to build relationships and uncover new sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop targeted sales strategies,
identify key markets, and approach new business leads.
- Monitor market trends and competitive activity to stay ahead of industry developments and provide insights that can shape sales strategies.
- Present and propose tailored packaging solutions to potential clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of customer needs and industry requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including production, design, and customer service, to ensure client requirements are met and projects are delivered on time.
- Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management, ensuring transparency on sales activities, opportunities, and performance.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the company.
Education and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the folding carton or packaging industry is required.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the folding carton market, particularly within industries such as food, healthcare, and consumer goods is considered as an asset.
- Travel Flexibility: Ability and willingness to travel frequently to meet with clients and prospects. Experience building relationships through face-to-face interactions is essential.
- Sales Skills: Proven ability to develop sales strategies, meet sales targets, and close deals.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM & ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
for tracking sales and generating reports.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong negotiation and presentation abilities.
- Self-motivated: A self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and work independently to achieve goals.
- Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams to deliver client solutions.
