THE ROLE:

Our summer student program provides an opportunity to experience real-world challenges, collaborate with diverse teams, network with other students and create a vision for your future career path.
Working with our Information Technology team in Calgary, this will be a full-time student position from May through August 2025. During your summer, you will gain exposure to the energy industry by attending sessions hosted by subject matter experts and will have an opportunity to showcase your learnings with your student network. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
- Assist in the development and implementation of project management processes, tools, and best practices within Project & Portfolio Services
- Support PMs and business stakeholders by helping to maintain and update project plans, timelines, and progress reports for a variety of digital initiatives
- Analyze portfolio data to provide insights on project performance, resource utilization, and timelines, contributing to the optimization of project prioritization and decision-making
- Contribute to the creation of project documentation, including project charters, status reports, meeting minutes, risk logs, and other key deliverables
- Help prepare and review process maps, workflows,
and project schedules to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines
- Support testing and quality assurance efforts by gathering and analyzing feedback on deliverables and processes
- Assist with organizational change management activities such as drafting FAQs, creating communication materials, and helping with scheduling and logistics for training or events
- Participate in special projects to support PMO process improvement or technology adoption initiatives as needed
- Support the development of a streamlined budget/accrual/forecast integrated process from project initiation charter development through project execution to project close
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program at a post-secondary institution in Canada,
and must be returning to undergraduate studies after the work term
- Enrolled in Business, Project Management, Computer Science, Communications, Engineering, or a related post-secondary program is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to create professional presentations and manage data in Excel
- Basic knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks
- Experience or interest in data analysis and reporting would be an asset
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Planview, Jira, MS Project, or other similar platforms is an asset
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive mindset with a high degree of initiative, eager to learn and contribute to ongoing projects
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and cross-functional groups
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while also thriving in a team setting
