Business Link is a not-for-profit and government-funded organization responsible for serving entrepreneurs and small business owners and operators in Alberta. Founded over 25 years ago, Business Link has served thousands of companies and organizations through webinars, events, conferences, and direct one-on-one consultation. In addition to providing services, the Company also manages funding programs on behalf of the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada. Business Link partners with many other organizations in the Alberta small business ecosystem.

JOB STATEMENT
You will support small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by connecting them with services and resources available through Business Link and external providers. Your role is to provide trusted guidance to help clients successfully start, manage, and grow their businesses.
You are motivated by the desire to make a meaningful impact, helping clients navigate the challenges and opportunities on their entrepreneurial journey. By building strong relationships with Indigenous entrepreneurs and engaging with community partners, you will raise awareness of the ways Business Link can assist Indigenous businesses.
Through outreach efforts, you will connect with Indigenous communities and organizations to expand access to valuable services,
empowering entrepreneurs and contributing to the sustainable growth and success of Indigenous businesses.
ROLE COMPONENTS
- Assist entrepreneurs at various stages of their business journey by helping them access relevant services and resources.
- Provide ongoing business coaching, offering advice and innovative solutions that empower Indigenous entrepreneurs to build strong, sustainable businesses.
- Collaborate with partners in the entrepreneurial ecosystem to understand their needs and explore opportunities for meaningful collaboration.
- Work closely with Indigenous community partners and service providers to expand business opportunities for Indigenous entrepreneurs.
- Participate actively in entrepreneurial events,
continuously building connections with Indigenous entrepreneurs and expanding your own expertise.
- Visit Indigenous communities regularly to establish trust, foster meaningful relationships, and offer Business Link programming that meets the needs of the community.
- Deliver Business Link’s entrepreneurial programming through both online and in-person channels, while providing feedback to the Client Services team on the unique programming needs of Indigenous entrepreneurs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in business or a related field, or a diploma in business with 2 years of experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience working with small business owners or aspiring entrepreneurs.
- In-depth and direct experience with and/or knowledge of Indigenous communities and culture
- Business acumen and an understanding of small business and entrepreneurship
- Excellent communicator: public speaking experience will be an asset.
- You have no problem using and learning new technologies.
- Class 5 Driver's License

Edmonton (or surrounding areas)

- Salary competitive with similar positions for other not-for-profit and government funded companies (We use the Boland Data)
