Job Summary:

HOOPP’s Real Estate portfolio has a net value of $14 billion and is continuing to experience rapid growth. The portfolio consists of a mix of investment types (land, developments, income producing properties and debt investments), ownership structures (direct and indirect holdings) and is invested across numerous geographies (domestic and foreign). HOOPP engages numerous external managers (property managers,





asset manager, general partners) to manage the portfolio.

Real Estate is a very high touch asset class in a niche market.

Reporting to the Manager, Business Process, the Sr Analyst is accountable for ensuring that all Real Estate investment applications and downstream applications/reporting, have complete and accurate information for business users. The Sr Analyst will provide direction and support to the Analyst.

The Sr Analyst serves as a key point of contact and technical expert for individuals both internal and external to the organization including but not limited to; external managers and service providers, vendors, Investment Management, Business Solutions, IT, and Investment Data Management.

Reporting and analytics drive investment decision making and financial reporting.





It is critical that data is reliable, complete, and accurate across the all Real Estate technology applications. Errors could result in financial loss and inaccurate investment decisions.

What you will do:

Provide oversight to external managers:

- Continue to build relationships and open communication with external asset/property management staff.

- Provide oversight to ensure adherence to HOOPP’s data standards to ensure quality information exchange, financial controls and reporting requirements are in place and to proactively minimize data issues.

- Develop financial integrity reports based on HOOPP’s accounting policy that highlights deviations from policy. Work with external mangers to resolve issues identified in a timely manner.





Examples may include vetting budget submission against approved budgets, identifying where managers are using G/L accounts that need to be cleared, etc.

- Develop commercial data integrity reports to vet the completeness and accuracy of commercial data. Responsible for the resolution of all commercial data issues such as gross leaseable area, vacancy, rent roll data.

Onboarding new managers and new external data sources:

- Serves as the key point of contact to onboard new external managers with respect to the electronic data submission process. This encompasses communicating HOOPP’s data requirements and standards, required formats and monitor sign off to HOOPP.

- Provide oversight to Analyst and HOOPP IT in mapping of external data to HOOPP systems.







- Liase between HOOPP IT and external managers to identify and resolve issues related to data files

- Partner with HOOPP IT to understand data requirements and mapping for new data sources such as appraisal and market data.

- Provide oversight to ensure HOOPP policies are being adhered to

Monthly electronic data collection and load into real estate book of records:

- Provide oversight of the Analyst in completing the monthly data collection process.

- Identify and resolve data integrity/quality issues with external managers on a timely basis. Follow through with external managers to identify root issues and solutions to ensure there is no re-occurance.

- Partner with HOOPP’s IT department to resolve external managers issues regarding data submission via the Real Estate Data Portal.

System Maintenance:







- Ensure static data and key data elements are accurate and complete in Real Estate book of records

- Review and approve setup of new assets, new ownership structures and changes, new G/L translations and changes, and general entity and building data

Data movement between HOOPP’s book of records and data warehouse.

- Provide oversight of Analyst in ensuring that data movement to HANA is complete and accurate

- Promptly resolve any data issues identified by the data quality checks performed by the Investment Data Management team.

Real Estate Reporting Portal

- Complete validations to ensure that data is correct and accurate in the Real Estate Reporting portal (Tableau reports)

- Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the Tableau reporting before and after month end close







Innovation:

- Collaborate with Business Process Manager to design and implement automated process solutions.

- Proactively design data integrity checks and controls

- Partner with Real Estate finance team to assist with issue resolution, seek opportunities to create efficiencies and reduce operational risk.

What you bring: ​

- University degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline

- CPA designation would be an asset

- 7-10 years’ experience in real estate including data governance, technology, or operations

- Experience in use of Yardi software would be an strong asset

- Proficient in Microsoft suite of products

- Extensive knowledge of real estate operations and accounting

- Extensive knowledge of data governance and best practices







- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Attention to detail and accuracy is extremely important along with the ability to hand multiple priorities effectively

- Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with internal stakeholders and partners as well as external service providers and vendors

- Ability to respond to queries in a timely manner

- Proactive self-starter who is highly motivated and results oriented

- Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing process improvement

- Ability to mentor and develop junior staff members
