What you will do:
The Senior IT Business Systems Analyst maintains a “business perspective” through all phases of the problem resolution and systems enhancement. Senior IT Business Systems Analysts work closely with the business to understand their needs, opportunities and requirements. Working in a team environment, the Senior IT Business Systems Analyst is responsible for:
1. Representing the business’ requirements
2. Providing Leadership
3. Defining and designing the business functionality of the system
4. Ensuring that the system meets the defined business requirements
5. Defining business problems/opportunities, providing a clear definition and performing benefit analysis
6.
Performing business and systems analysis and design, articulating the logical design alternatives and recommending appropriate solutions
7. Performing functional analysis and design, defining and documenting detailed business requirements
8. Performing functional testing of system changes and supporting user acceptance testing of those changes
9. Contributing to training strategies and business implementation planning
What you will bring:
1. Degree in related discipline (Commerce/Management Information Systems, Business Administration, etc.) or equivalent combination of training and experience with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a business analysis role.
2. Excellent understanding of business principles and experience with a broad range of different types of business functions
3. Excellent understanding of general IT project methodologies, processes and practices
4. Strong analytical and problem solving skills that rely on a structured approach to problem solving
5.
Exceptional internal consulting skills with a strong customer service orientation
6. Experience and ability to understand and effectively work with legacy technologies and contribute as legacy applications evolve and are migrated to new platforms would be an asset.
7. Insurance Knowledge is an asset.
8. Having worked as a software developer in a mainframe environment would be an asset.
9. Communicates in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal, that is appropriate for the audience
10. Proven leadership skills with a commitment to customer service.
11. Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
12. Ability to adapt to change and perform effectively under pressure
13.
Demonstrated ability to work both individually and as part of a team, plan and organize your own work, communicate effectively in writing and verbally in person or remotely, initiative, team-oriented leadership skills and attention to detail
14. Excellent understanding of information technology/information systems
The base salary for this position is between $61,000 - $114,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e. annual bonus, commission, etc.).
