Under the direction of the Manager, Employment Services oversees the day-to-day implementation and operation of Career and Employment Community Services in the locations and programs identified. Responsibilities include the management and administration of human, financial, and physical resources of employment programs and services.
As part of Georgian College’s Career and Employment Community Services Leadership Team the Coordinator works closely with others in this team to ensure delivery consistency across the department, college-wide, provincially and federally, depending on funded programs and services responsibility. This includes liaising with clients, engaging staff, funders, community partners, as well as other administrative and academic departments, to maximize innovation and efficiency in program and services operations. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Directly supporting a team of Employment Services Consultants under multiple agreements to deliver effective employment services and programs to reach milestones and targets
- Coach staff to develop and deliver client success stories to effectively promote programs and services. Create timelines and set targets for various project components, ensuring compliance with the agreements and reporting requirements
- Accurately manage financial agreements including tracking expenditures to ensure program objectives are met
- Complete monthly narratives on programs and services overseen as required by agreements and adhoc when requested by funder or Manager/Director
- Effective and frequent communication with staff, colleageus and Project Officers (funders) to resolve day to day client service delivery issues
- Act as a subject matter expert and coach in Career Counselling, Job Search Theory and Practice, Building Trusting Relationships and Assessment Component of Employment Counselling to train and support staff when working 1-1 with clients
- Coordinates the development and implementation of a marketing, promotional and outreach plan to support community participant recruitment
- Participate in local and regional economic development planning committees as well as community partnership groups.
Represent Georgian College Career and Employment Community Services at regional, municipal and provincial and federal reference groups
Qualifications:
- Successfully completed a 3-year degree or diploma in Human Services, Career Development Practioner, Human Resources or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years related experience in the supervision/management of Community Based Services, Student Services or Employment Services
- Strong community leadership skills
- Experience with financial management and budget management skills
- Strong influencing, persuasion and collaboration skills
- Intermediate level computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint and other related software systems
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
