THE ROLE:

Our summer student program provides an opportunity to experience real-world challenges, collaborate with diverse teams, network with other students and create a vision for your future career path.

Working with our Policy and Government Relations team in Calgary, this will be a full-time student position from May through August 2025. During your summer, you will gain exposure to the energy industry by attending sessions hosted by subject matter experts and will have an opportunity to showcase your learnings with your student network. We are looking for capable,

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

- Research and collaborate with internal groups to assess the impact of provincial and federal policies on corporate priorities
- Develop presentation and briefing material for PETRONAS decision makers and other audiences, such as government and communities
- Be assigned multiple specific provincial and federal policies to monitor, analyze, and communicate developments on
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis related to key policies and advise on implications for business activities
- Support participating in government policy engagements
- Developing written briefings and presentations






- Assist in coordinating PECL’s representation and participation across a range of industry working groups and committees.
- Participate in various projects as needed

WHAT YOU BRING:

- Actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program at a Canadian post-secondary institution, and must be returning to undergraduate studies after the work term
- Enrolled in a Political Science, Economics, Communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, Indigenous Studies, Corporate Social Responsibility, Energy Resource Management, or other similar program
- Experience in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills






- Curious and passionate about working on public affairs issues within the energy sector
- Adaptable to changing priorities and demonstrated complex problem-solving and decision-making skills
