Position: Sr. Data Engineer to perform ETL development (PostgreSQL) on Guidewire billing/policy/claims center for a major insurance client
Duration: 6 month contract with possible extension
Location: Hybrid Markham 3x on site
NOTE: Attendance at the Markham office is mandated for three (3) days per week, with no alternative locations permitted. Attendance on Tuesday and Wednesday is compulsory, with one additional flexible weekday. This requirement is non-negotiable. In the event of genuine illness, the missed day must be made up.

.We are seeking a talented Finance Systems Data Engineer with strong experience in the insurance industry and expertise in ETL and PostgreSQL development to join our dynamic team.
Must Haves:
- 5+ yrs exp as a Data Engineer within the financial services industry
- ETL Development
- writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures in PostgreSQL.
- 3+ yrs exp with Guidewire Billing/Policy/Claim Center
Nice to Haves:
- Oracle fusion
- Snowflake
- Qlik and Python reporting
- Guidewire/SQL Professional certifications
Responsibilities:
- Data Integration: You will need to understand and integrate data from Guidewire systems into our finance systems. This involves designing ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from Guidewire applications.
- Data Analysis: Understanding the data structures and terminology used in Guidewire applications will be essential for performing accurate data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Financial Reporting: Data from Guidewire systems will be used to build financial reports and perform complex financial calculations in our Corporate Reporting Engine (CRE) and Accounting Engine (AE),
ensuring that the finance team has accurate and timely information.
